About The Pedagogical Training and Academic Development Center

The Pedagogical Training and Academic Development Center at the University of Duhok, established under Ministerial Decree No. (1722) dated October 2, 2019, is a university center dedicated to academic development and pedagogical training. It operates under the Vice President’s Office for Scientific Affairs and Postgraduate Studies.

Through a wide range of academic and technical training programmes, workshops, seminars, certification programmes, and professional development initiatives, the Center serves the University, local academic and governmental institutions, NGOs, and surrounding communities in the region. Its programmes are delivered by qualified academics and professionals from the University of Duhok, as well as experts from local and international institutions.

The center’s training programmes are designed to strengthen teaching practices and enhance the quality of higher education by promoting contemporary approaches such as student-centered learning, digital competence, professional capacity building, technical skills, research-based practices and reflective practice, while remaining consistent with international frameworks, including the Bologna Process.

By offering structured and practice-oriented professional development, the Centre empowers higher education instructors to become creative, responsible, and impactful educators who contribute to raising educational standards within the University and beyond. It also equips them with the knowledge and skills needed to respond effectively to the evolving demands of higher education and today's labour market.
